Counseling

The Sinha Clinic practices in a person-centered approach to counseling, therapy and treatment. We provide our patients with a safe space to communicate their struggles, create clear goals and organize priorities to help empower individuals and/or families to accomplish their mental health, wellness, education and career goals.

Our clinicians use a variety of approaches in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.

Why is Counseling Important?

Counseling is a learning and educational experience where the person spends time learning more about themselves, and acquiring new coping cognitive and behavioral skills for a particular issue or condition they face (e.g., depression, anxiety, addiction, brain injury, etc.). By learning more about the problem, the patient will become empowered and better equipped to face the problem head-on.

We focus on the person traveling their path to recovery by improving communication barriers and interpersonal skills. Promote greater self-acceptance and self-esteem to face their challenges.

Including the following:
  • Ability to change self-defeating behaviors/habits
  • Better expression and management of emotions, including anger, fear, etc.
  • Relief from depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions
  • Increased confidence and decision-making skills
